What Is WETH?

Wrapped ETH or wETH is an ERC20 compatible token that is backed by ETH. The value is worth the same amount as ETH. It is a part of the 0x protocol and allows ETH to be traded on Ethereum-based decentralized exchanges.

wETH is created when ETH is sent to a deposit contract and can be unwrapped back into ETH by sending it to the withdrawal contract. wETH was created to standardize ETH so that it can be used in ERC20-based decentralized applications (dApps).

The 0x protocol uses wETH as one of its supported tokens and allows for the decentralized exchange of ETH and other ERC20 tokens. Wrapping ether eliminates the need for a third party in trades involving ERC-20 tokens, allowing users to exchange ether and ERC-20 assets. It lowers the risk of fraud and counterparty risk, as there is no need to trust a centralized party.

Linen Wallet supports the Polygon (Matic) and the Ethereum network. You can create an ETH or MATIC wallet at any time.

Do you have a desktop wallet version?

We don’t have a desktop version yet but we can consider developing it if enough users are interested. In the meantime, give the mobile wallet a try!

Can I connect hardware wallets to Linen Wallet?

We haven’t yet developed this because we believe the current multi-sig wallet setup already offers bulletproof security. However, we can consider working on it if enough users are interested.

When will the android wallet be available for download?

The android wallet is coming later this year. You can join the waitlist to be the first to know!

What happens if my mobile device is lost or stolen?

Your wallet app is protected with a pin or with Face ID so no one can use it without your consent. Furthermore, your mobile wallet is secured using 3 keys, and 2 out of 3 are required to recover your wallet. So even if you lose your mobile device, you can seamlessly recover your wallet using your phone number, email, and cloud drive.
